The Wellston, Ohio community is grieving the tragic loss of Bailey Ousley, 17, a beloved student and athlete from Wellston High School, who died following a single-vehicle ATV crash early Friday morning in Jackson County. His passing has left family members, friends, classmates, teammates, and the wider community heartbroken as they come to terms with the loss of a young life taken far too soon.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:27 a.m. on Hiram West Road, just north of State Route 32 in Milton Township. Investigators reported that Bailey was operating a 2014 Honda Rancher ATV with one passenger when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
Bailey was transported by Jackson County EMS to Holzer Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. The passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, with assistance from multiple local emergency agencies.
