The Norwich and New London communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Leilani Robinson, 18, who died following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 395 in Waterford, Connecticut, on Thursday evening. According to Connecticut State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 5:24 p.m. as Robinson was driving a Lexus on the Montville connector ramp to northbound I-395. Investigators reported that the vehicle traveled off the left shoulder into the grass median before reentering the roadway, crossing to the right shoulder, and leaving the road again, where it struck a tree.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found Robinson unresponsive. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
